Hello, hello!
I seriously considered not writing this but giving up on Day 27/30 didn’t feel right. Momentum really is a mind-altering drug. Don’t think I’ve done enough to tout the momentum bit, but I see what Mr Mack means. This Sunday has been a nice one. Recorded two episodes of The Adulting Podcast and lost footage for one, met Paras, met Annkur, finished the first batch of Spill Pot stickers, figured out an elementary automation and now I am writing this while Wizards of Waverly Place plays in the background. All this on three hours of sleep. That’s what I did my Sunday. Now, 2979 remain.
Here are some notes from this one.
One. The mid-wit curves of life.
High chances that if you’re reading this, you know about this one. You know — normal distribution — that says that most people are somewhere in the middle in all scenarios (money, height, intelligence, etc) with minorities on either extremes. More math about it is here. More likely than not — you’re closer to the middle than either edges. Particularly if you think you can outsmart the curve.
But why am I talking about this today? I came across this meme today and it reminded me of a conversation I’ve been having with a friend’s sister. She wants to go get a business/mass comm/journo degree, plans on pursuing masters, hang out with really “smart” people and then a cool business idea will come to her. Which she will then pursue, life will be easy and she’d make huge money — afterall she got a degree and so much experience before it. That’s her great-grand plan in life. I don’t agree with it at all. But I really admire that she planned all this at 17. At least she can then go find out whether or not this works.
But what I have been telling her is exactly this — you have to make a good product. That offers value. Solves a problem. And that’s your business. Any experience might be helpful but it’s no guarantee. Don’t disillusion yourself so early on. Funnily enough, I’ve seen people older than me believe the same. Good luck to us all, really.
Two. Bits and atoms.
Today I learnt about bits and atoms. And the role they play in business. Very simply, bits: all things digital. Atoms: all things physical. Canva design – bits, stickers – atoms. Music – bits, concerts – atoms. Et al. AI touches most bit-based trades —- design, video, code, music, all that. More likely kills pure-bit trades, say, mammoth creative agencies. But bit+ atom businesses, it makes faster and easier. Better fashion — AI gives you better designs (or soon will) but the fabrication, you still need the human. Pure atom businesses — perhaps harder. If that’s the case, it seems one is better off being in the atom business. Or bit + atom. Products. Physical things. Brands. Experiences. The world is super dynamic today. Let’s see what survives 20 years later. Or what new world is made altogether.
Three and last for the day. Micro-thoughts from the day.
- Was reminded of Emmett Shear. Go watch this. And then, this.
- I don’t think I grasp well what people are willing to pay for. We’re ready with the MBTI test on CQ. I was looking at what other companies are doing to make money. Most of them just tell you’re INFJ or ESJF or ABCD of whatever — and charge anywhere between $3 to $300 to give you a full report. And people pay for it. With zero idea who they’re paying or if they’re trust-worthy. We are ready with that report, and I still feel unsure about putting a paywall on this. Anyhow, go check it yours on cerebralquotient.com before we do it.
- Had some really strong coffee and got a rickshaw back home. And decided on a lot of things on who I want to be in life + how I want to live. Actioned some things. Need these 10 seconds of courage more often.
And that’s all from the day.
And oh, here’s my Rule-of-thirds sheet for the day.

Ps: I share interesting links and stories that tickle my brain through the day on this WhatsApp group. Most of it doesn’t make it to these blogs, but should you like to join — here.
And oh, write back. I love getting messages 💌
