Hello, hello!
Writing this from a sticker-clad tiny table at friend’s place. If I am right, this must be Day 15 of these blogs. Which is half-way there. Yay! The day has come out to be a really nice one.
Had no college, so I slept in. Woke up to catch up on the world, then slept some more. Hit the gym. Felt VERY low on energy today. Still, didn’t skip exercised and finished my routine. Plus, the cardio. I’m happy about that. Lunch was just a lot of healthy.
I am full, but I craved kachra a lot. So, I gave in to a little rasgulla. That’s alright though. I’ve finished my usuals calls and tasks. But I haven’t done much. Need to pull my socks up. After I’ve written this, I have a dinner-date. At a healthy, green and organic place. And then, I’ll read half of Show Your Work by Austin Kleon. Expect a summary soon. Fix up Spill Pot. And then, it’s skincare + a hair mask I’ve been wanting to try for months + hit-the-hay time!
As I said, this day has been a nice one. Now, here a few stories from today for you.
One. Spill pot is expensive.
After writing yesterday’s post, I spent some time and cracked the Payment Gateway thing. The website is live now. I need to add more to it before I can say the store is live too. I will finish it through this week, or maybe the next weekend. Exam week at college.
Now, I shared links to all my WhatsApp groups. All kinds of responses, obviously. Someone said that Rs 100 for a sticker is expensive. They are wrong. They’re Rs 260 a pop. Jokes apart, here’s what I think about it.
One, that I saw it coming. Not all sticker-and-stationary businesses sell it at these prices. But some do. And I will be one of those. You can choose to be a customer, supporter or nay-sayer. You do you and I do I — free will.
Two, that the person perhaps wanted to spend time debating this. Honestly, I am not one for conflicts and disagreements. As long as no one is harmed, I try to avoid them. I find them needless, very first-world and stupidly dramatic. So, I saved both of us some time and didn’t engage. Both of us had bigger fish to fry.
Third, that yes — SpillPot is expensive. It will be. The biggest number I feel is fair, it’ll be that. And why not. I value my work and time and effort and passion. Before the website was live, one couldn’t have even bought these stickers. Now, you can. So, this is practically a steal deal.
Two. Be glad progress is slow.
I watched this video today that talked about how it’s a good thing progress is slow. Two things I have been trying to do consistently are — gym and these blogs. And it’s often frustrating when I don’t see any progress. With blogs, I am not more consistent in other areas of life, my thinking is not clearer, there’s no BoB (blog-on-blog) growth, nothing seems to come out of it. Same with gym. I started going because I was struggling terribly with self-image. I just wanted to lose weight and feel fitter. It’s only been a month but I want to see progress on these things now. I haven’t tracked my weight but I don’t think it’s any better. Or maybe it is.
But the thing is — this takes time. And it’s a good thing. Because these habits + their outcomes aren’t built in a day, they won’t go away so quickly too. Discipline allows you the freedom to indulge once in a while. Progress might be slow. But that’s what it takes for change to become second nature. And then, life’s jhinga-la-la!
Three. Paused for a few seconds.
While walking back home from the gym today, right outside my building, the wind felt real good. I looked up and the sky was lovely as well. So, I just stood there for a little bit. Untied my hair, put my bag down and took it in. That was my touch-grass moment of the day. Felt so good after.
I wonder how often we forget to look up and take life in. Thank god there’s the Sunset Club. I really should bring it back. But how? Maybe I make it a practice to post something every time I am there. Ooooh, could there be a location-based reminder automation on Shortcut. I should figure this out, so cool!
Lastly. Scrapbook of the day.

- Yes, I will now call this scrapbook of the day. Where I can put all random thoughts that come to my mind, PLUS any fun links I find. Micro-thoughts was starting to feel limiting.
- There’s this dictionary of colour combinations. Which is just a book of many colour combinations — sets of two, three, four and more. You could use this for home-decor, outfits, design projects, anything. And oh, there’s also a website like it that I found.
- I want to be able to think better, cooler and sharper on Cerebral Quotient. We have a very basic thing ready. But what more? How to make it more fun and engaging? The pizzazz. TIL: They call it Product-Led Growth.
- I might spend some doodling at my dinner today. I am excited about that.
- Saurabh said that yesterday’s post seemed rushed. It was. I was tired + excited to finish Spill Pot. Tried cutting it short. Tried to do absolute justice to this one.
- And oh, spent some time with Nina and Ria planning work at Decoding Draupadi. Good luck to us all!
And, that’s all! More tom 🙂
